When you are losing weight, it is good to pay attention to the inch loss in addition to the weight loss on the scale. Increasing Activity & changing eating habits to promote weight loss can mean a change in your body composition. Paying attention to this inch loss can help to keep you motivated and encouraged when losing weight.

CHEST MEASUREMENT:

Surround the tape on the chest holding the ends of the tape in your hands. Bring the two sides of measuring tape together at the middle of your chest & Read the number of inches on the tape where it meets with the zero points.

 

WAIST MEASUREMENT:

Waist circumference is the most common measurement to show inch loss. You will need a measuring tape to do this at home. Wrap the tape measure around your waist at the navel Do not press the tape measure into your skin. Read the number of inches on the tape where it meets back with the zero points.

 

LOWER ABDOMEN:

Stand in front of a full-length mirror so you can see what you are doing. Wrap a measuring tape below your navel. Avoid tightening the tape too much. Breath as you normally would, without sucking in or extending your stomach. Read the measuring tape after exhaling. And note down your lower abdomen in inches.

 

HIPS MEASUREMENT:

To see inch loss on hips the measurement is taken around the thickest area of your hips. Wrap the tape around the curviest part of your butt. This measurement can be taken over your clothing. Be sure the tape measure is sung, but not tight.
