Colocasia leaves have elevated levels of potassium, which manages blood pressure level as well as reduces the chance of hypertension. It is abundant with Vitamin C; this particular vitamin has got antioxidants that really help to combat free radicals in the body, avoiding us from daily illnesses just like a common cold or even fever. Water chestnut flour is Low in sodium, high in potassium, rich in mineral calcium, iron, zinc and phosphorus and also contain a moderate amount of fiber.

INGREDIENTS:
  • Arbi/ colocasia roots - 25 g 
  • Singhare ka atta/water chestnut flour - 5 g 
  • Green chilly and ginger paste - ½ tsp 
  • Ajwain/carom seeds - a pinch 
  • Rock salt/table salt -  as per taste 
  • Oil - to grease
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1 Boil the arbi till becoming soft in a pressure cooker or in a pan. Peel all of them.  Step 2 Add singhare ka atta, green chilly and ginger paste, ajwain, salt to the arbi. Mash well and mix uniformly.  Step 3 The mixture is sticky so while shaping the tikkis, apply some oil on palms. Shape into round tikkis.  Step 4 Preheat the oven. Place the tikkis over the greased tray and bake them.  Step 5 Serve arbi tikki hot with green chutney and side raita.
