Fish laksha soup is a refreshing Assamese soup. Mint leaves are rich in antioxidant which helps to relieve indigestion, cold and cough, boost immunity, Morning sickness and also helps to release stress and depression. Lemongrass is a good source of vitamins A and C, folic acid, magnesium, zinc, copper, iron, potassium, phosphorus, calcium and manganese. It has many beneficial medicinal properties including antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal, diuretic, and is a potent galactagogue. Fish is rich in omega 3 fatty acids which is good for heart, helps to reduce inflammation, lower blood pressure and good for bones.

INGREDIENTS:
  • For the Stock:
  •  Fish - 50gm
  •  Water - 500ml
  • For the spice paste:
  • Grind together to make the paste:
  • Lemongrass stalk - 1
  • Dried red chili - 1
  • Green fresh chili - 1
  • Chopped ginger - 1 tsp.
  • Turmeric - a pinch
  • Salt - to taste
  • Sugar - ¼ tsp
  • Lemon juice - ½ tsp.
  • Mint leaves - few
  • water - to make a paste 
  • Coriander leaves - for garnish
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1 Mix the 500 ml stock water with tamarind paste and strain. Bring the tamarind water to a boil. Step 2 Put in 2 tsp spice paste in this water, made using the ingredients & blenderizing them into a paste . Add salt to taste & sugar. Simmer at low flame for 10 minutes so that good taste develops. Step 3 Add fish [small pieces or shredded] and cook for 10 minutes more at medium flame. Step 4 Enjoy it hot and garnish it with mint leaves & green coriander leaves.
