Healthy Chaklis? Yes, made with Bajra flour, garlic, and Nigella seeds, these chaklis can definitely be healthy when consumed in proper portion sizes. Bajra flour contains calcium, magnesium and potassium. Nigella seeds contain an active compound called thymoquinone, which can shield the body from free radical damage. They are also very useful in managing diabetes. Garlic is a star ingredient, containing Allicin, and has so many surprising health benefits. Grab a few of these Chaklis on those busy days and enjoy its flavors. 

INGREDIENTS:
  • Bajra flour - 2 tbsp
  • Whole wheat flour - ¼ cup
  • Grated garlic - ¼ tsp
  • Nigella seeds  - ¼ tsp 
  • Green chili paste - ¼ tsp 
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Curds - ½ tbsp
  • Oil - 1 tsp
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1 Combine the bajra flour, whule wheat flour, garlic, nigella seeds, green chili paste, and salt in a deep bowl and mix well. Rub the butter into the flour mixture using your fingertips until the mixture resembles bread crumbs. Step 2 Add the curds and knead them into a soft dough using little water. Put the mixture into a chakli press and press out round whirls of the dough onto a newspaper or aluminum foil working closely from the center to the outside of the whirl.  Step 3 Heat the oil in a deep kadhai, gently lift each chakli using a flat spoon, and deep-fry, a few at a time, over a medium flame till they turn gulden brown in culor from both the sides.  Step 4 Drain on absorbent paper—coul and store in an air-tight container.
