This dish combines chicken with spinach and the end result is a tasty, nutritious, and healthy dish. Chicken is high in protein, low in sodium, and is a good source of blood-building vitamin B6, bone-strengthening phosphorus, and cell-protecting selenium. Spinach has an extremely high nutritional value and is rich in antioxidants. It is a good source of vitamins A, B2, C and K, and also contains magnesium, manganese, folate, iron, calcium and potassium.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Chicken - 50g
  • Onions [chopped] - 2 tbsp.
  • Mustard seeds - sprinkle for flavor
  • Ginger paste - 1 tsp

  • Chili powder - ½ tsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  • Spinach [puree] - 3 tbsp
  • Curd/ Homemade Yogurt - 50g
  • Tomato Puree - 1tbsp
  • Coriander leaves [chopped] - 1 tsp
  • Oil - ½ tsp

Step 4 Saute the onions gently until they become translucent. Make a paste of the ginger puree, garlic puree, curry powder, turmeric powder, and chili powder, with a little water.  Step 5 Add to saucepan and stir in well and fry for a couple of minutes.  Step 6 Now add chicken pieces and stir in well. Add the pureed spinach. Mix the yogurt, tomato puree, together in a jug with the water and pour into the saucepan and mix in well.  Step 7 Turn up the heat until the sauce begins to simmer and leave to simmer for 10 minutes.
