Curd has a good bacteria' present in it which strengthens your immune system by fighting against several microorganisms that are present in the body. The calcium present in it prevents your body from pumping more cortisol, which helps to reduce cholesterol and aids in weight loss.Brown rice not only provides satiety but also is much healthier than simply white rice as it is a whole grain. It is high in fiber which makes you feel full for longer time.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Brown Rice (raw) - 20 g
  • Yogurt whisked  -  1 cup
  • Cucumber finely chopped  - 2 tbsp
  • Carrot finely chopped  - 1 tbsp
  • Salt as per taste 
  • Mustard seeds -  ½ tsp
  • Asafetida  - a  pinch
  • Curry leaves   -  5 
  • Ginger chopped - ½ tsp
  • Green chillies chopped -  2
  • Oil - ½ tsp

DIRECTIONS:
Step 1 Wash and soak the rice in about 2 cups of water for at least 15 minutes.  Step 2 Add rice and 1cup of water and bring it to boil, lower the heat and cover the vessel adjust the quantity of water to make sure that the rice is well cooked. Cook for 18-20 mins until rice is soft and water has evaporated.  Step 3 Heat the oil in pan, add mustard seeds. When seeds splutter add asafetida, curry leaves, ginger and green chillies and saute for 5 secs  Step 4 Add the cooked rice to the mixture.  Step 5 Add salt and mix. Add yogurt and mix well. Step 6 Keep it in refrigerator and serve chilled.
