  • Curd - 20 g
  • Mustard seeds - ½ tsp
  • Curry leaves - 1 tsp

  • Coriander powder - ¼ tsp
  • Whole dry Kashmiri red chillies - 1 no.
  • Cumin seeds - ¼ tsp
  • Asafoetida - a pinch
  • Oil -  ½ tsp

When the oil is sufficiently hot, add cumin seeds and asafoetida.  Step 4 Saute for a while and add coarsely ground species, turmeric powder, and coriander powder.  Step 5 Saute for a few minutes. Also, add red chilli powder and curd.  Step 6 Stir constantly and cook on low flame until it simmers once.  Step 7 When masala comes to boil and oil starts separating from it, add  ½ cup water into it.
