This Tex-Mex dish of fish and vegetables provides a good amount of minerals, phosphorus, and selenium, which help maintain healthy bones and teeth, break down fats and carbohydrates, keep your thyroid functioning well and protect against harmful free radicals. Fish tacos are yummy to eat and at the same time good for weight loss.

INGREDIENTS:
  • Lettuce leaves - 2-3 no.
  • Fish (cod or halibut) - 50 g
  • Olive oil - ½ tsp
  • Cumin powder - a pinch
  • Oregano powder - a pinch
  • Chilli powder - ¼ tsp
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves.
  • Red or sweet onion (finely chopped) - 50 g
  • Lemon - ¼ no
  • Orange - 1 no.
  • Cilantro (finely chopped) - 1 tbsp
  • Plum Tomatoes (diced) - 2 no.
  • Avocado - 15 g
  • Salt and pepper - as per taste
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1 Sprinkle the fish with cumin, chilli powder, oregano, salt, pepper and garlic cloves, making sure that both sides are well-spiced, keep aside for 10 mins. Step 2 Heat the ulive in a pan. Step 3 Add fish and cook until flaky or until just done. Step 4 Remove from heat, add orange and squeeze lime over fish. Step 5 Serve fish on top of a bed of lettuce with the desired amount of onion, cilantro, tomatoes and avocado. Step 6 Squeeze the juice of orange and lime over salads.
