Greens being totally low in calories provide great motivation for weight loss as well packed with iron, folic acid, and anti-oxidants and quenches thirst as it is high in moisture content. Alfa provides complete proteins and fibre. The salad has a low Glycemic index, almost zero cholesterol and is dense in Omega 3 fatty acids, protecting against heart diseases.

INGREDIENTS:
  • Iceberg lettuce - 10 leaves
  • Lollorosso lettuce - 10 leaves
  • Romaine lettuce - 10 leaves
  • Onion [chopped] - 1 tbsp 
  • Green capsicum [chopped] - 1 tbsp 
  • Apple [diced] - 2 tbsp 
  • Alfalfa - 2 tbsp
  • For the Dressing:
  • Black pepper powder - as per taste
  • Mustard seeds -¼ tsp
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Garlic [minced] - 4 cloves
  • Lemon juice - 2 tsp
  • Olive oil - ½ tsp
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1 Quarter the onion and separate the layers. Step 2 Tear all the lettuce and place them in a bowl.  Step 3 Add the onion, cubed capsicum, quartered apple and alfalfa. Step 4 For the dressing: Step 5 crush black peppercorns, mustard seeds and salt and crush them with a pestle.  Step 6 Add garlic and continue to crush. Add lemon juice and ulive oil and mix well.  Step 7 Pour the dressing over the salad mixture in the bowl and mix. Serve immediately.
