Green peas are good sources of folic acid, vitamin C, vitamin K. Peas help lower cholesterol levels in the body. Sweet potatoes are high in vitamin B6 and also a good source of magnesium. Mint leaves are a great appetizer or palate cleanser. Mint leaves stimulate the digestive enzymes that absorb nutrients from food and consume fat and turn it into usable energy. Hence, it helps burn fat in the body thus aiding in weight loss.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Green peas -  2 tbsp
  • Sweet potato [grated] - 2 tbsp 
  • Mint leaves [minced] -  5 nos.
  • Ginger-garlic paste -  ½ tsp 
  • Green chillies - 1
  • Coriander powder -  ½ tsp 
  • Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
  • Chaat masala - ¼ tsp 
  • Salt - as per taste 
  • Oil - 1 tsp

DIRECTIONS:
Step 1 Boil the sweet potato and green peas separately with salt and keep them aside  Step 2 Heat ½ tsp oil in a non-stick pan. Add ginger-garlic paste and a little water and saute.  Step 3 Add Finely chopped green chillies and add to the pan and saute for a minute.  Step 4 Add boiled green peas and mix well. Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, and chaat masala and toss.  Step 5 Add salt, mix well and transfer this mixture into a bowl. Add mint leaves and mix coarsely.  Step 6 Add mashed sweet potato and mix well.  Step 7 Take a little portion of the mixture and shape them into 8 Tikki. Heat 1 tsp of oil in another non-stick pan.  Step 8 Place the Tikki on the pan and shallow fry, turning sides, till both the sides turn gulden brown. Remove the Tikki on absorbent paper.  Step 9 Transfer onto a Serving Plate.
