Moon milk is one of the best recipes for a good nights’ sleep and with a hint of coconut oil, becomes beneficial for constipation too. It also contains healing properties. The turmeric in it acts as an anti-inflammatory agent, plus cinnamon and cardamom keep the body functioning well. Nutmeg aids in good sleep and Ashwagandha helps the body to deal with stress and of course, carries you away to dreamland!

INGREDIENTS:
  • Skim milk - 1 cup 
  • Cinnamon powder - a pinch
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch
  • Ashwagandha powder/ Shatavari [for lactating women] - ¼ tsp 
  • Cardamom powder - a pinch
  • Dry ginger powder [optional] - a pinch
  • Nutmeg powder - a pinch 
  • Freshly ground black pepper - a pinch
  • Virgin coconut oil [only when constipated, otherwise avoid] - ½ tsp 
  • Honey [optional] - ½ tsp
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1 Bring milk to simmer on medium flame.  Step 2 Whisk in cinnamon, turmeric, Ashwagandha/ Shatavari, cardamom, nutmeg, and black pepper powder.  Step 3 Whisk vigorously to make sure clumps are not formed.  Step 4 Add coconut oil [only for constipation, or else skip this step].  Step 5 Warm for 5-10 minutes.  Step 6 Remove from heat and coul, then stir in honey [to reap the benefits].
