This Moon milk recipe is the best for a good nights’ sleep and with a hint of coconut oil, it’s the best for constipation too. Along with being healthy and healing, it is also very beneficial. The use of whole milk is quite important as it is a good source of nutrients and will help in the assimilation of fat-soluble vitamins too. The turmeric in it acts as an anti-inflammatory agent, plus cinnamon and cardamom keep the body well-functioning. Nutmeg aids in good sleep and Ashwagandha [helps the body to deal with stress] of course carries you away to dreamland.

INGREDIENTS
  • Whole milk or unsweetened nut milk [such as almond] - 1 cup 
  • Cinnamon powder - ½ tsp 
  • Turmeric powder - ½ tsp 
  • Ashwagandha powder/ Shatavari [for lactating women]- ¼ tsp 
  • Cardamom powder - ½ tsp 
  • Dry ginger powder [optional] - ¼ tsp 
  • Nutmeg powder - ¼ tsp 
  • Freshly ground black pepper - ¼ tsp 
  • Virgin coconut oil [only when constipation faced, otherwise avoid]- 1 tsp 
  • Honey - 1 tsp
DIRECTIONS
Step 1 Bring milk to simmer on medium flame.  Step 2 Whisk in cinnamon, turmeric, ashwagandha/Shatavari, cardamom, nutmeg, and black pepper powder.  Step 3 Whisk vigorously to make sure clumps are not formed.  Step 4 Add coconut oil [only for constipation, or else skip this step].  Step 5 Warm for 5-10 minutes.  Step 6 Remove from heat and cool, then stir in honey [to reap the benefits].
