Low fat paneer helps in improving bone mineral density and preventing osteoporosis. Tofu is an excellent low-fat source of protein which is a good low-calorie option for weight loss. Bhavnagari green chilies (Jalapeno chili) is rich in vitamin C and also helps lose weight by burning down body fat. Capsicum also contains a good amount of vitamin C and it increases our body metabolism by lowering triglycerides which are stored in our body fats. This helps to burn calories more effectively.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Low fat paneer / Tofu  - 10 g
  • Bhavnagri green chilies (Jalapeno chilly) - 2 nos.
  • Onions, sliced -  ½ medium
  • Tomato, chopped - 1 medium
  • Green cardamom, crushed - 1 no.
  • Coriander seeds, crushed - ½ tbsp
  • Ginger-garlic paste - ½ tbsp
  • Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
  • Red chilli powder - ½ tsp
  • Coriander powder - ½ tbsp
  • Cumin powder - ¼tsp
  • Cumin seeds - ¼ tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil  - ½ tsp

DIRECTIONS:
Step 1 Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add green cardamom, cumin seeds, coriander seeds and sliced onions to the pan and saute till onions are well browned.  Step 2 Remove stems of Bhavnagri chilies and halve them vertically.  Step 3 Cut paneer into thick batons.  Step 4 Add ginger-garlic paste and tomatoes to the pan, mix well and saute for 2 minutes. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, and cumin powder.  Step 5 Mix well and add Bhavnagri chilies.  Step 6 Mix again, cover and cook on low heat till Bhavnagri chilies are soft. Add salt and mix. Step 7 Add ¼ cup water and mix. Add paneer and mix gently. Cover and cook on low heat for 5 minutes. Serve hot with hot chapattis.
