Ragi cookies are a healthier option for kids as the cookie is made of whole wheat flour and ragi flour. Ragi is one of the best natural protein sources. Protein is beneficial for muscle growth and repair. Ragi is rich in iron and calcium thus helps strengthens bones and teeth.

INGREDIENTS:
  • Whole wheat flour - 1 tbsp
  • Ragi - 1 tbsp
  • Powdered sugar - 1 tsp
  • Unsalted melted butter -  ½ tsp
  • Ghee -  ½ tsp
  • Baking powder - ¼ tsp
  • Baking soda - ¼ tsp
  • Cardamom powder - ½ tsp
  • Pure vanilla essence - ¼ tsp [Optional]
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1 Sieve the wheat flour, ragi , baking powder and baking soda together. Throw away the coarse husk of ragi after you sieve. Step 2 Mix the essence, ghee, and melted butter. Step 3 Mix flour with sugar, cardamom powder and pour the butter mix, and knead well uniformly for 2 minutes. Step 4 Preheat the oven to 170 C and grease a tray and set aside. Step 5 Rull the dough into small balls and flatten them. Step 6 Use a fork to just pierce the cookies to prevent puffing. Step 7 Bake them for 15 to 20 minutes. Step 8 Coul the ragi cookies on a wire rack and store in an airtight container.
