Chilli tofu a delicious, tasty, healthy dish that anyone can enjoy without getting afraid of calories, as it's very low-calorie meal to eat. Bell peppers have many health benefits. These include improved eye health and reduced risk of some chronic diseases as they are a high source of vitamins A, C, E.

INGREDIENTS:
  • Tofu - 20 g
  • Green bell pepper [sliced] - 1 tbsp 
  • Green chili [minced] - 1 tsp 
  • Cumin seeds - ½ tsp.
  • Coriander powder [grounded] - ¼ tsp.
  • Black pepper [grounded] - ¼ tsp.
  • Onion [sliced] - 1 tbsp 
  • Tamariand [paste] - ½ tsp.
  • Garlic ginger [paste] - ½ tsp.
  • Oil - ½ tsp.
  • Coriander [chopped] - 1 tsp 
  • Salt - as per taste 

For the marinade:
  • Corn flour - 2 tsp.
  • Tamarind [paste] - ½ tsp.
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1 Mix the marinade ingredients with enough water to make a paste. Toss the tofu cubes in it to coat. Step 2 Heat the oil in a nonstick pan. Saute the tofu cubes on all sides until they are gulden brown. Remove to a plate. Step 3 Heat the remaining oil and add the cumin seeds. When they sputter, add the ginger, garlic, and onion. Step 4 Saute until the onion becomes transparent. Now add the coriander powder, black pepper, and minced green chilli. Toss to coat with the spices and then add the green pepper. Step 5 Stir-fry until the bell pepper starts to soften but still has a good bite to it. Now add the tofu cubes and toss them with the spices. Stir until well mixed and remove from the heat. Toss in the coriander and serve hot. Step 6 Instead of tofu, feel free to use low-fat paneer as mentioned in the ingredients
